Tuesday morning was off to a quick start with the Maine state breakfast gathering. Everyone got together to go over events and plans for the week.
After that, we had plenty of free time to do some exploring while waiting for the Internetworking orientation at 1:00. We took a bus to Crown Center and spent time walking through the elevated tubeways and seeing the shops in that area. It was also a chance to see the Union Station attractions and the WW-I memorial park, a scenic spot to get outdoors for a while.
After returning to the hotel, we prepared for the orientation and returned to Bartle Hall. Things went smoothly for the initial preparation and competition element that was conducted. However, we ran into a snag when it was clear we had a problem with the tools. Luckily it got resolved with a trip to Lowes after the orientation! That could have been a serious problem for the main portion of the competition, but we got through it.
Soon after returning, we had to meet with all of the ME schools for a group photo at 5:15PM, followed by taking a trip to the Power & Light district in KC for an evening dance for the students. That consumed the rest of the evening and was quite loud (guess I'm getting to old!) but the event was well attended and everyone was energized by the show.
Now for more fun Wednesday. Stay tuned! I try to post pics when we return from events for the day.
